Katherine Perez Memorial Scholarship

This is where we will have a short biography of Kathy in memoriam.

 

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in the fall of 2018, after the selection period, which will take place in the summer of 2018. The winner of the scholarship will reflect Katherine’s valuing of service and her dedication to the South Bronx Youth Leadership Council.

At the time the scholarship application opens, you must either be a current member of the South Bronx YLC, or you must be a former member and current mentor the South Bronx YLC members.

If you are a current member of the South Bronx YLC, you may apply if the following is true:

  • You can provide documentation of 100 hours of completed community service, and
  • You are either:
  1. A current junior in high school, planning to apply to college or a post-high school vocational training program in the coming year or
  2. A current senior in high school, planning to begin college or a post-high school vocational training program in the coming year.

If you are not a current member of the South Bronx YLC, but you were a member in its first year, and you are now a mentor to its members, you may apply if the following is also true:

  • You can provide documentation of 100 hours of completed community service, and
  • You are currently enrolled in college or a vocational program.
